Working for more than 13 hours with a little bit allowance for overtime work, 350 yen/hour--Three Chinese women who used a system called, "Job Training and a system for acquiring skills for foreigners", ran away without enduring the cruel working conditions and low salary from a sewing company in Aomori Prefecture. Mainichi Newspapers reported it today.
The troubles similar to this case have taken place in recent years across the nation.
It was reported that those three Chinese women joined a corporate interview co-organized by a Chinese agent and four sewing companies in Aomori Prefecture in Japan, and they were selected out of 20 candidates.
The cost that the three Chinese women paid to the Chinese agent was around 300,000 yen that was around 2-3 years salary for workers in their area in China. They managed to borrow the amount from people like their relatives.
Their ideal Japan did not exist in their working place. One of them said, "We were almost like a slave."
The president of the company said, "They said before working that they don't need to take holidays because we are accustomed in China, and we want to work overtime a lot." In addition, the president said straight, "We would have not hired them if we had to pay the usual salary protected by law."
Now in Japan, the new rule for foreigners is under consideration trying to improve their working conditions and reduce the case like this example. However, for foreigners, especially, Asian people who do not have any special skills, I suppose that they should not expect too much about Japan.
Even for Japanese citizens, working condition is getting tougher and tougher. And it is natural for companies to break the law in working place. Under this condition, I cannot imagine that working environments for foreigners would go better.
Especially for Chinese who want to work in Japan, personally, I think that they should go to Shanghai or Beijing or some developing and active cities in China. There is no easy diamonds in Japan though the situation will be a bit different for very talented foreigners.
Thank you for visiting and have a happy Mother's Day!!
