Liberal Democraptic Party (LDP) in Japan lost with tremendous loss of its seats, but Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, still believes that citizens did not reject him.
The Prime Minister said in a debate between LDP and Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) that got a landslide victory, "Which person is suitable for the Prime Minister of this country, I or opposite party leader?"
Where is his memory? The problem was not only his memory but the ability to judge.
The Prime Minister decided to make a Minister of Farm Ministry who brought a controversial matter about his spending without opening the receipts quit finally. Why didn't he do that before the election? For this judgment, even the politicians in his party have claimed hardly.
What the Prime Minister has done looks absurd. Ironically, this series of stupidity seem to tell us that anybody can be Prime Minister of Japan because this country is controlled by government officials as somebody said.

About the strange "late in the day" Wall Street massive trading volume, we will not know until the third pearl harbor happens. For exemple, if the transactions are all about companies with their main office in Chicago, and the US government make "it" happen in Chicago, then we'll know later it was insider trading with foreknowledge of the third pearl harbor, but only after the US government make "it" happen. And of course, you can be sure that those guilty of insider trading will NOT get a hard penalty someday, they will be rewarded with government contracts to buy their silence; and those stupid enough to try to expose the insider trading will be provided with a "free" tombstone to crunch their skull.
Even if baka Abe was to be replaced by Ichiro Ozawa, the pressures to lax the constitution to spill J blood in Iraq/Iran will still be there as baby-Bush does not want to repeat the "free ride" Japan that was given by papa-Bush in 1991 when Japan just wrote a big check to get his share of oil. The external pressure will be worst with the coming war with Iran as the flow of iranian oil with be (at best) temporarily stop in the first months of the war.
I expect the US authorities to be as hard to Japan as UK authorities are with local iraqis oil companies:

There are many new projects to use geothermal energy in europe, but they are far from earth ground natural cracks and they have to dig deeper for that. With so many earthquakes and onsen, Japan looks like the best place on earth for such geothermal projects. Where are the geothermal electric power plants in Japan? What are those geniuses coming out of todai waiting for building them? Is the funding getting diverted to construct useless new ballpark where there are no children to use them? (^_^)

As for the new energy source sleeping around Japan, I also watched an educational TV that reported the source. If it can be available in cheap cost, Japan may rise greatly again with it though I don't know when it becomes possible.

The old ideal of an ever growing economy is only possible if you have the CHEAP energy to heat new houses and drive new cars, or otherwise people won't buy those new houses and new cars. At the beginning of an oil crisis, oil is still available but the price of everything goes up and the poorest are the first to default payment. Economic growth is over, now it is economic decline, a parallel to oil decline (peak oil). And peak oil is a taboo subject, why tell the public about peak oil? Peak oil is just the biggest change in human history in the last 200 years! It's too important, better not tell the public...

Hi Marc. I understand that the matter of subprime loan is just the beginning of chains of bankruptcy. American middle class will really go down as well as Japan (Japan is just following America, though).
As for Ichiro Ozawa and John Thomas Schieffer, I just found a short article of JiJi press. It seems that John Thomas Schieffer asked him to extend the dispatch of Self-Defense Force in Iraq. This matter will be a big matter as I wrote in this blog before. DPJ may not agree to it because they try to turn in a draft that stops to dispatch SDF for Iraq in this fall.
It's interesting to see how DPJ can handle the relationship between Japan and America. Of course, I don't think that big change will not happen.
