Japanese Struggle in Working Places

Hi everyone in the world!! What's up? It's 5:20 pm here in Japan. I'm gonna deliver today's column:

Japanese people in working places are getting lonely, and the bosses divert the responsibility because of the performance-based system. With that title, Sankei Newspaper reported about the problems in working places of Japan today.

The article picked up a case.

An accident happened in one of the quite famous Japan makers in Japan. A man who was 30s was doing his task assigned, and it was found that his job was quite late. A day that the accident was found was just one day before the date of completion.

Until that day, nobody including his boss and colleague noticed the big delay of his work. A partaker mentioned, "we extended the working day and put a lot of colleague in the job, but it was still not enough. And finally, we had to hire dispatch workers."

As a result, this largely delayed job affected other sections and damaged the company a lot. The man who caused this matter said, "I couldn't say it because I didn't want to be looked as an incompetent person."

The article of the newspapers says that the trust relationship in working places is getting poor and poor. The phrase that bosses say represents it, "I leave it to you, so you do it in your way."

Some specialist analyses that the phrase comes from a purpose to hide the incompetence that the bosses cannot give suitable advices or create proper relationship. They do not want to share with responsibility.

Umm...This matter is actually really complicated. Many things, so many things are changing in Japan. The situation is quite chaotic. It seems that western value and traditional Japanese value deeply existing inside are fighting. Japanese are basically collectivism, but value of individualism starts to be dominant. This conflict of the values will be so hard to solve.

Prince Shotoku once said, "Treasure conformity".

It seems that the room to treasure the traditional culture, value, is getting narrow.

Recovering Total Unemployment Ratio, 3.8% in April. 3% Level For The First Time in 9 Years!! However...the Truth is... --From Japan

Konnichiha (Hi) again!! How are you? It's 4:20 pm here in Japan. I'm gonna deliver today's second column:

Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced today that the total unemployment ratio in April was 3.8% with 0.2% up from last month. Mainichi Newspaper reported it.

3% level of the total unemployment ratio has not appeared for 9 years. Is this a sing that Japan's economy is getting back? No way...

We have to focus on the number of non-full-time workers that are crazy soaring!! The percentage of the non-full-time workers reached 33.7% in whole workers. It was the highest number since the investigation started.

Part-time workers or dispatch workers who mostly do not have hopes in their futures are just included in the announcement. Except for traditional elders, Japanese citizens will no more believe this kind of announcement.

Suffering citizens know the truth of society.

Darkness of Politics, People Suicide One After Another. What is Going On in Japan? --from Japan

Konnichiha (Hi) everyone!! How are you doing? Something is strange in current Japan. Yesterday, a minister of Farm Ministry committed suicide for the first time after World War II as I wrote yesterday. Today, another person who is related to the matter died in jump again. Here is my today's column:

A person who was found dead in a parking in Yokohama this morning, around 5:15 am was the person of a director of an organization, "Forest Development Corporation" that is the past organization called, "Green Resources Organization". This "Green Resources Organization" was involved into the controversial golden parachuting and the minister of Farm Ministry who committed suicide just yesterday was related.

It seems that both of them who committed suicide closed their mouths with death.

Special Investigation Department of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office was investigating both of them. However, dead people can never say a word.

Japanese citizens must feel something quite dark and deep existing in this matter. They must have died for saving a route where many people such as politicians, gang group (this is one of the powerful force like police, politicians, top class business people) or top government officials may have related.

This series of suicide will have a big influence on the coming, critical election.

A Minister of Farm Ministry in Japan Committed Suicide by Hanging at a Public Dormitory for Diet Members--from Japan

Hi everyone in the world!! It's 3:20 pm here in Japan. There is emergent news from Japan. Here is my column related to it:

On 28th afternoon, around 12:18 pm, in a room of public dormitory for Lower House, Minister of Farm Ministry in Japan attempted to commit suicide by hanging. It was confirmed that he was dead afterward. Mainichi Newspaper reported it.

Recently, he has been criticized strongly for his political money matter in his office and the matter of donated money from a related organization that was accused of collusive bidding at an initiative of government officials under Farm Ministry by opposite party and public opinions.

Although Prime Minister Shinzo Abe protected him saying, "he is playing a legal role", dark donation was found, and then, even Liberal Democratic Party demanded him to step down.

Well, however wrong he has been doing, it is a bit pain to hear this news as a human being.

I just feel that he could not cheat himself finally. He must have suffered from the voice of good heart that never disappeared from his mind. This is a human system.

So many corruptions in government organizations are belching up. There is no symptom to stop. What do those who are related to that kind of matter feel observing this Prime Minister's suicide?

They can never cheat themselves forever. The longer they cheat themselves, the deeper they may get punished by themselves.

Japan Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe Enjoyed Watching a Big Horse Racing Event, "Japan Derby" with his wife. He Won!! However...

Hi everyone in the world!! How's your holiday? I had a good time with my wife. Everyday will be different depending on our thinking. Even common days are filled with happiness. Yeah, we have to treasure the peaceful time. Common is uncommon. All right, it's 9:33 pm here in Japan. I'm gonna deliver my today's column:

Japan PM Watched the Japan Derby with his wife today. It was a historical race that a mare won the race for the first time in 64 years. In this historical race, his betting slip hit!!

He is the third Prime Minister who joined the Derby in office following his grandfather and ex-Prime Miniser, Koizumi.

He said, "I was impressed by the beauty of thoroughbred horses and race track."

Japanese citizens who heard the comment must have noticed the word, "beauty" because this Prime Minister has emphasized his policy often, "Towards a beautiful country." "Beautiful country, Japan". The citizens must be detecting like, "Oh, again. This is just a performance."

Yeah, I also think so. And I sympathized with him a little because he already used his luck. He shouldn't have concerned about this game but concerned the coming election that will be a much tougher race.

Social Insurance Agency is Going to Be Dismantled. An Example of Government Officials in Japan--from Japan

Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito conducted a vote in 25th of this month on the bill related to reform of Social Insurance Agency that has been showing awful dysfunction of the government organization that has handled very important money, citizens' life, called pension.

This organization has been giving so many topics to mass media and shown general citizens what the government organization has been doing, why this country started to lose power and money.

Though general citizens can never make sure that government can really change the organization of the government, the rotten organization will become a hot topic of the coming election. Citizens' eyes to government officials are getting sharper naturally.

One person whose father is a local government official and grandfather was also a government official said on internet, "You know, my father is just a local government official, but his salary is more than 10,000,000 yen per year!! And my jiji(grandfather) who is 72 years old now is getting pension plus big money from an organization where he parachuted. The total is 15,000,000 yen per year!! S*cks!! Definitely this country goes bust!! Their personalities are decaying!!"

This country, Japan, may have reached the point of no return, already.

How Citizens' Tax are Used, Government Officials' Way--from Japan

Hello everyone!! What up? It's 10:04 pm here in Japan, and I'm listening WOR radio on internet. Do you like to listen to online radio? Maybe, some listen to ipod, I suppose.

Anyways, I'm gonna deliver today's column:

Four public corporations that have received consultant jobs were charged of violation of antitrust laws. This is a case of infamous golden parachuting at the initiative of government officials that have been eroding Japan society. In response to this, task force of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office arrested 6 people.

Chiefs of sections in the department of 8 local constructions across the nation have made the original plan to distribute jobs for one year, and the headquarter of the department has collected it. And finally, the top has approved the allocation sheet. It's quite organized.

It is said that government officials in the places where they parachuted for unreasonable salary including crazy amount of retirement jobs without doing any job just give the jobs to connected private firms, and they just get the margin of profits with just sitting down.

The case found this time is just, just, just a tip of the iceberg!! Before the government makes general citizens suffer from increasing tax, social securities, etc, the government must root out their own problems!!

How vain a slogan, "Towards a beautiful country" is!!

No Freedom to Choose Life. Struggling Youngsters Are Forced to Work with No Hope.--From Japan

Hi everyone in the world!! It is said that this summer is hot because of La Nina. Yesterday, the max temperature in south Japan was crazy for this season. Is this a warning for human beings?

All right. I'm going to deliver today's column:

Government of Japan decided to make a new system to support youngsters who are called NEET (young people Not in Education, Employment or Training) or staying at home with a variety of reasons by letting professional counselors visit their house. The purpose is to let those youngsters live independently. Japan Media reported it today.

The new system is considered to be a policy of support for the youngsters from 15 to 34 years old.

To put it simply, this system will be far from support but force the youngsters who are struggling in their life to work under hopeless conditions. The policy is clearly hypocritical.

The environments where Japanese youngsters are put currently are quite tough and hopeless. It seems that those youngsters who stay at home without being able to work or called "NEET" are just struggling in many ways observing that society. That is, except for some who are really just lazy (this kind of people exist in any period), this government policy may rob the youngsters of the freedom of choices in their life in order to increase tax instead of avoiding reforming themselves.

No Japanese general citizens can see when they are released from the rule of government officials who are the worst tax eaters.

It may be the time that obedient Japanese general citizens have to learn from farmers in China who are aggressively reveling against their governments.

Unknown Payment Records of Pension, Active to Collect but Hesitant to Pay. That's the Way of a Government Organization--from Japan

Hello everyone in the world!! What's up? It's 11:05 pm here in Japan. I'm gonna post my column today before I go to bed:

Among the records of payment of pension controlled by infamous Social Insurance Agency, the pension records that are not identified were found. The number in the sky was 50,000,000 cases. Japan media reported it today.

Too crazy! This means that there are so many general Japanese citizens who are getting much less money than they paid.

This organization is one of the symbols of government officials in Japan. So many citizens hope this organization gets scrapped.

They haven't only wasted huge citizens' money spending for extravagant buildings or expensive massage chairs but less active to pay the money that they have to pay to good citizens who paid the money of pension. No common sense!! However, almost all of the government workers in Social Insurance Agency are not fired keeping the salary that is claimed for too high compared with private firms.

No Japanese citizen will be able to predict when politicians stop to surrender to government officials who are actually taking control of Japan.

Incompetent Professors, Time to Leave from National Universities--From Japan

Hi, everyone in the world! How are you doing? It's getting warmer and warmer here. Summer is coming around the corner! All right, it's 10:00 pm here in Japan. I'm going to deliver today's column:

Ministry of Finance announced on 21st of this month that if they redistribute "subsidies from government" to national universities judging their results of the research, around 85% that is 74 national universities out of 87 will get lower budgets from the government.

It is said that many of the national universities will resist to that new policy. This means that they know that they cannot make good results, honestly speaking.

Yes, Yes. In my experience, so many professors or teachers in national universities do not create the value at all (not only national universities, I suppose). At least, I know well about the English professors. There were many English professors whose English standard was terrible. They could not almost speak English though their salary was amazing!! Yes, they are government workers who are never fired however incompetent they are!!

The principle of competition does not work in government fields at all. This is not only true of national universities but all fields of government sections that have been hugely consuming Japanese wealth over decades.

Demonstration→Change the Constitution→Preparation for war???? From Japan

In Fukuoka prefecture in Japan on 19th of this month, youngsters who are put in a position of low salary and unstable job had a demonstration.

The demonstrators put a stereo on a truck, and they screamed making a loud sound of dance music, "Can't stand any more!" "Give us decent jobs!" "We're not disposable part-timers!!". The bustling shopping and entertainment district was smothered by tumult at that moment.

Recently, Japanese youngsters are put in a tough and unfair situation, especially, in working places. The Japanese youngsters who are said to be quiet have finally started to show the anger in public.

The current government tends to ignore this situation. It seems that what the government of Japan is focusing on is to change the constitution. Many citizens, including intellectuals, doubt it. Yes, it is a bit strange and does not make sense, but a figure slightly comes up.

It's war. This may be an extreme perspective, but it can probably be thought that government intentionally let the number of youngsters who cannot get jobs with which they can make a humane living like the past generations decrease a lot, and then, the government may be thinking that those youngsters are forced to join a self-defense force that may be an official military if the constitution is changed. No job? Join the military. Like that way.

I hope that this is just a fantasy. No, it must be a fantasy because current government strongly and loudly keeps mentioning, "Towards a beautiful country". Yeah, don't need to worry, don't need...probably...

Women Cannot Even Eat Stakes Alone Freely--from Japan

Hi everyone in the world!! How are you doing? I am happy to know that Japanese baseball players such as Ichiro (Seattle Mariners), Daisuke Matsuzaka (Red Sox) or Hideki Matsui (New York Yankees) in major league baseball in America are flourishing!! They are great hopes of Japanese!!

All right. It's 9:15 pm here in Japan. I'm going to deliver today's column: Around midnight in 9th of this month, a woman who is around 20 years old was in a restaurant in Osaka prefecture. When the restaurant was about to close, a manager of the restaurant and a worker threatened the woman together using a stun gun. They forced the woman to take a sleeping pill and abducted her, and raped her.

The two criminal were wearing the shop uniform in the crime and said, "We intended to keep her".

It is said that the criminals purchased the stun gun and the sleeping pill through the internet, and they were hunting out a woman. They were clearly accustomed to doing it.

How scary. Just recently, the news that a British woman who was teaching English in Japan was killed terrified us a lot. Around one month has passed since the crime was announced, but the criminal is still running away.

Japan is still relatively safe, but it seems that situation is gradually changing. Especially for women, they cannot lower guards. Criminals who became mad in this stressful society or with some reasons may approach them wearing a nice mask.

Honestly speaking, Japanese who feel that the safeness in society is going worse are increasing. Strong light in the past is changing to the jet-black shadow.

P.S. When Japan society was active, the good news like baseball players that I mentioned in the beginning gave positive energy to general citizens and inspired us. However, because the reality of the society is quite bad, even great news seems to be just happening in another world as it is. This psychology may be one of the reasons why baseball in Japan that was quite popular in the past is getting unpopular or cannot let citizens hot like in the past.

Citizens do not have enough mental space to enjoy it, probably.

Households That Less Than 500 million Yen in Annual Salary Became Clear Majority For the First Time--from Japan

Tokyo carries out an investigation of welfare and health once in five years. In that investigation, it was found that the number of households that the annual salary was less than 5 million yen in last year was over 50 percent for the first time. The percentage was the highest since this investigation started in 1981. Mainichi Newspaper reported it in 16th of this month.

In addition, households that the annual salary is less than 300 million yen were nearly 30%, up around 10% from the last investigation.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan or a world city. When general Japanese citizens hear the news, "Japan's economy is getting better and better!", they will think that it is just happening in a part of Tokyo and local cities are just going down and down... However, even in this Tokyo where there are much more job opportunities than any other city and wage standard is almost best in whole Japan, finally, it became clear that low income class is clearly increasing. This was a bit shocking for me, too...

For the money resource, 28% of the households said pension and social welfare. And the households that do not have jobs reached 22% that was the worst so far.

Reading the article and thinking about the real case, I seriously thought that this country may be quite dangerous.

I wrote the book, "Falling Japan" and selling on Ebay now. However, I'm getting a bit scared imagining the default of Japan. Of course, I NEVER want it to happen. I strongly want the government to be serious about the economy AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! They do not have any room to protect government officials including underground world in order to save this country, Japan!!

Recently, Japan currency, yen, is getting weak and weak. Isn't it telling something important? I may be thinking and worrying too much, probably...

Sorry to let you read this kind of gloomy news. This is none of your business and the matter that Japanese have to seriously think and solve.

All Japanese Citizens Are Killed by Bad Government --from Japan

Hi everyone!! How are you doing? It's 2:40 pm here in Japan and rainy in my place. All right, I'm going to deliver today's column:

It is not reported so much, but bankruptcy of companies are exploding recently again. Nikkan Gendai that is said to be anti-authority reported it today.

According to a data of Teikoku Databank that is a company providing information of firms or doing investigation of trust, the number of the bankruptcies only in April was 817 cases. It is the continuous increase over 7 months up from previous year.

A person in the Databank said, "People have not been aware of this because there is no bankruptcy in famous and big companies, but the bankruptcy is happening a lot in middle and small companies. Closed businesses are multi times of that. Big companies will be okay like in Tokyo, big city, but local economy are going destructive. Those companies start to be unable to endure the longstanding depression. People don't purchase stuff. Though Tokyo, area like midtown or new buildings, is bright, it is another world."

Yes, government emphasizes on the recovery of economy, but general citizens cannot feel it totally. However, it seems that government doesn't have any policies about economy. They will not reform themselves such as cutting the salary of government officials that have tremendously eating citizens' tax. Instead of thinking about the economic policies, they have been quite active about changing constitution.

Are they going to prepare for war hiding the dangerous financial condition? No general citizens want to prepare for wars with changing the constitution. They should focus more on redressing this terminal economy more than changing the constitution.

Accelerated Reorganization in Media Industry, Thomson Purchased Reuters. How about Japan's Media Industry? Part 2

Hi everyone!! How are you doing? It's almost 7:30 pm here in Japan. I'm gonna deliver today's column. If you didn't read the yesterday's post, please read it first. This is the sequel of the post. All right, here is it:

The price of newspapers in Japan is unreasonably protected. The two systems mainly support their profits pushing the high cost to readers though youngsters have stopped to follow the tradition noticing the stupid system.

First, it is the no-discount resale system that stops the free competition of the price. The newspapers' price is quite protected under this capitalistic society (seemingly).

Recently, Japan Fair Trade Commission tried to rethink about the specific designation with which newspaper companies can keep the original price though the suggestion was quite rejected by the industry and some politician who are getting the profits from them.

And the system of the specific designation is encouraging the newspaper companies to force distributors to purchase papers more than the actual number of sales. This has been letting the advertisers and readers pay expensive money in order to keep their profits.

They are afraid of losing the profits. This means that they know the current value of the newspapers by themselves. If the free competition where other industries have joined long time ago already starts in their industry, they have to face the reality that they have been avoiding. The sales will go down and down.

So many people can use internet in this modern society. Why do we have to stick to the paper version? They must be able to reduce the crazy high labor cost and great amount of waste if they seriously join the free competition. In that phase, they will finally begin to try to make efforts to differentiate their articles.

If they want to get back the status of media respected by readers, they have to break the bad and old habits completely before they claim other companies or government's inefficiency.

Accelerated Reorganization in Media Industry, Thomson Purchased Reuters. How about Japan's Media Industry?

Hi there!! What up? Raining outside here... It's 6:40 pm here in Japan. All right, here is the second post today:

Internationally famous broadcasting news agency, Reuters, was bought by Thomson Corp in Canada. It seems that active reorganizations in media industry are accelerating in United States and Euro. Internet development is one of the big reasons to move the situation. So, how about in Japan?

Some Japan media picked up this buyout in their editorials talking about the importance of trust in media. It's true that media is very influential vehicle that can even lead citizens to directions that controllers can decide. Therefore, high ethics is essential as the editorials talked. However, Japan media will seldom reflect what they are doing. Yes, they ignore their internal matters.

Japan media, especially newspaper companies start to suffer from decreasing sales of newspapers, too. The symptom is strongly shown in youngsters who are accustomed to using internet. So, they start to cheat the number of sales in newspapers giving the burden to distributors who are quite powerless to the headquarters. Yep, ads revenue is their lifeline.

Trust is important, but people in Japan media are obstinately resistant to the new trend in order to protect their own profits. Therefore, the price of newspapers in Japan has been kept very expensive until now.

In addition, there are some unreasonable systems that newspaper companies have been covetously gripping.

Well, it will be too long to write all about it...Maybe, next time or in the near future, I will write the series of this article.

I want to say that Japan media will be unable to say such a word, "trust is important" for Reuters without looking inside of them straight.

A 17 Years Old High School Student Killed His Mother--From Japan

Hi everyone in the world!! How are you doing? It's 1:40 pm here in Japan. It's halfway cloudy, and I rather think raining is better than this weather. Yep, weather will affect our emotions, I suppose. Anyways, here is my today's first column:

A 17 years old high school student was arrested for the murder of his mother who was sleeping in futon, and it is strongly suspected that he cut the part of head and arms on the spot. Japan Mass Media reported it today.

In the inquiry, he stated that he killed his mother who was sleeping. What is furry is that he cut the part of head and right arm with a saw.

Police reported that he said, "I just wanted to kill anybody. I cut the dead body with a saw." The criminal did not show any reflections or regrets.

How awful!!!! Everybody can see that he is quite psycho, but this is too cruel and inhumane.

I don't know the accurate statistic about the juvenile crimes or murder cases between parents and children, but it seems that child abuses by parents or the reverse are increasing.

Is this the product of stressful society? Even if so, murder is NEVER allowed. And if parents do not have enough confidence to make children happy, they should not have them.

Birthrate is low in Japan, but it seems that uneducated youngsters tend to produce babies earlier than those who have higher education. In addition, shotgun weddings tend to go higher.

Under current situation of Japan society, it will be more difficult to raise kids happily and safely. The low birth rate will not be welcome for government, but it is much better than causing tragedies.

Depression and Suicide Going UP, Especially in 30s--from Japan

Hi again!! How are you doing? I'll deliver today's third column:

Last Year, the Number of People Who Committed Suicide was 66 people that is the worst record (It's just the official number). The serious generation is 30s who has symptoms like depression. Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare announced. JIJI Press has reported just now.

Those who suffer from stress on their jobs or overwork (of course, forced) choose to commit suicide. The number of those who actually took the action was worst in 2006 in Japan.

Though you may not know, I can say with much confidence that Japan's working conditions (in private companies) are so harsh. Working hour is quite long with huge stress that comes from many complicated reasons including the uniqueness of Japanese culture, I suppose (It seems that so many youngsters begin to show the strong resistance to it.).

Seemingly, the economy of Japan is recovering now, but reality is far from it, and the reality of recovery is supported by so much sacrifice of general citizens.

NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) Sends Notifications Against Unpaid Viewing Fee Considering Judicial Action--from Japan

Hi there!! It's almost 5 pm here in Japan. How's it going? This is the second post today:

NHK announced today that they are going to send notifications to business offices in Tokyo with an assumption of civil action. Yomiuri newspaper reported it today.

NHK is a public broadcasting organization that has forced citizens to pay 1345 yen per month whether or not their TV programs are so boring without trying to make any efforts to reduce their spending such as labor cost.

Because of their successive scandals in recent years, many people start to ignore the payment. In addition, with this trend, it was found that around 10,000.000 citizens are avoiding even contracting with NHK. This let citizens who had no choice but contracted with NHK following their good obedient heart feel quite unfair.

Now, this NHK is going to take action for getting contracts from those 10,000,000 people with legal action whether or not they are individuals or business offices.

Government, current ruling party, has established a committee to think about broadcasting industries, but they decided not to make the payment of NHK obligatory. They must be afraid of citizens' opposition.

There is quite vague rule about NHK. The staff of NHK have persuaded citizens into contracting right after citizens own TV. However, it is not totally illegal not to contract. It's a kind of rule.

So far, so many citizens have followed to contract with common sense, but because many scandals in NHK were found, citizens started to feel stupid about the payment strongly. Yes, I also watch their program just a couple of times in a month, but 1345 yen will go to their pocket. So expensive!!

The meaning of existence of NHK is not the same as past. However, it seems that NHK is used for a place of golden parachuting by government officials!! That's why they never try to lay off workers or downsize making citizens pay money forcefully!!

So many termites are grinning in the old buildings. Without clearing them, Japan will sink under sea in the near future.

Posts for Babies, First User Made a Big Ripple.--from Japan

Hi everyone in the world!! How're you doing? It's 12:30 pm here in Japan, and I'm gonna deliver today's column:

Facilities established to rescue lives of newborn babies emergently was wrongly used by irresponsible parents. Japan Mass Media reported it.

"Baby Post" put in Kumamoto prefecture got a boy whose age was around 3 years old. He could even speak and said, "I was brought by my father."

This system to set the posts in order to save babies has just started recently, but it was shocking for the post to have been used first in such a way .

The concept of this system is to save babies who may be thrown away otherwise. However, if this system fosters irresponsible parents to be more irresponsible...

Those who don't know the meaning of raising children should not have babies as a matter of fact. Nobody will be happy.

Molestation in Train, A Professor in Graduate School of Tokyo University was Arrested.--from Japan

A professor in graduate school of Tokyo University (top university in Japan) was arrested for touching the butt of a woman in a train. Yomiuri Shimbun reported it today.

The professor said in the inquiry, "I knew that it was illegal, but she was my favorite type, and I couldn't stand."

Embarrassingly speaking, this sort of case is not rare. We can find this kind of news almost everyday in Japan. How about in your country? Don't this kind of cases that let us stunned happen? Or is it just not announced because government doesn't permit the freedom of speech? If so, Japan may be better...

Though current Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, is trying to improve the education, I hope that he could focus on the rotten root. Reality has shown much stronger evidences than the ideal.

Hire 152 people for government officials. Superficial Performance to Appeal the Government Policy--from Japan

"Rechallenge society". It is a policy that the current government of Japan appeals to citizens. For a support of the rechallenge, government decided to carry out an examination of intermediate recruitment for 30s.

This is a quite superficial campaign for government to emphasize on their activity to redress the gap society that is quite controversial now, and this will not be effective at all thinking of the whole society.

The government has to immediately reduce the labor cost of government workers that is amounting to around 50 % of the tax revenue (excluding the invisible number in the underground world) and destroying the purse of Japan.

It is quite ridiculous to increase the government workers in the current trend in order to appeal their superficial policy with the superficial way.

82% people in 30s are Worried about the Future of Their Jobs--from Japan

Hi again!! How are you doing? This is the second post today:

Japan's working conditions have changed dramatically in recent years. Yomiuri Shimbun (newspapers) carried out an investigation for 30s who are said to be "generation in difficult time". And the result was that 82% of them said that they are worried about the future of their jobs.

The percentage in the question whether or not they feel stress in their jobs was also 82%. The reason of the stress was: Salary that does not increase (64%), Worry about the future of their companies or fields of industry, and stability (34%), Bad human relationship (30%) accordingly.

Roughly speaking, I feel that flexibility is necessary for current Japan. Many systems and thinking should be changed. For example, though current Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe mentioned "Rechallenge society", the reality is "rechallenge is not allowed." Once people drop from the mainstream way to live after they graduate from university, it is said that it is so difficult to get back to the line again. Job opportunities go down a lot. That's why those who want to change another course tend to stick to the current company and get ill mentally.

Knock-Off on Mother's Day in Japan, Osaka

Hi, everyone in the world!! How was your Mother's Day? It's 1:42 pm here in Japan and time to deliver my today's column:

In Osaka, a burglary who pretended to be a worker of a hotel visited a room and said, "I've brought a flower of Mother's Day".

Two wives in the room were cheated to open the door. Yomiuri Shimbun (newspaper) reported it yesterday in electronic edition.

Reportedly, the man shoved a stuff like gun or knife to the women and threatened them demanding money. The police are investigating the criminal now. Nobody has been injured so far.

There are no rules for criminals. It can be easily imagined that it was a little bit difficult for the two women to doubt the criminal who cheated to give them a flower as a gift of Mother's Day.

Sadly, we may start to need to believe the ethical doctrine that human nature is fundamentally evil.

On the Job Training for Foreigners, Chinese Women Ran Away Without Enduring Cruel Labor

Hello!! How're ya doing? Today is Mother's Day. Let's appreciate mothers! All right, it's 4:50 pm here in Japan. It is time to deliver my today's column:

Working for more than 13 hours with a little bit allowance for overtime work, 350 yen/hour--Three Chinese women who used a system called, "Job Training and a system for acquiring skills for foreigners", ran away without enduring the cruel working conditions and low salary from a sewing company in Aomori Prefecture. Mainichi Newspapers reported it today.

The troubles similar to this case have taken place in recent years across the nation.

It was reported that those three Chinese women joined a corporate interview co-organized by a Chinese agent and four sewing companies in Aomori Prefecture in Japan, and they were selected out of 20 candidates.

The cost that the three Chinese women paid to the Chinese agent was around 300,000 yen that was around 2-3 years salary for workers in their area in China. They managed to borrow the amount from people like their relatives.

Their ideal Japan did not exist in their working place. One of them said, "We were almost like a slave."

The president of the company said, "They said before working that they don't need to take holidays because we are accustomed in China, and we want to work overtime a lot." In addition, the president said straight, "We would have not hired them if we had to pay the usual salary protected by law."

Now in Japan, the new rule for foreigners is under consideration trying to improve their working conditions and reduce the case like this example. However, for foreigners, especially, Asian people who do not have any special skills, I suppose that they should not expect too much about Japan.

Even for Japanese citizens, working condition is getting tougher and tougher. And it is natural for companies to break the law in working place. Under this condition, I cannot imagine that working environments for foreigners would go better.

Especially for Chinese who want to work in Japan, personally, I think that they should go to Shanghai or Beijing or some developing and active cities in China. There is no easy diamonds in Japan though the situation will be a bit different for very talented foreigners.

Thank you for visiting and have a happy Mother's Day!!

Public Birds Never Stop to Fly

Hello, everyone!! Thank you for coming here!! It's almost 7:00 pm here in Japan. I'm gonna deliver my today's column:

Tokyo Stock Exchange is going to establish a corporation of self-imposed restriction this autumn, and a former member of deputy secretary in Ministry of Finance will get a seat of the first head director in that organization. The editorial of The Kyoto Shimbun Co., Ltd. reported it today.

In Japan, government officials' golden parachuting is pervading, and it is one of the biggest problems that have been eroding Japan society.

This is the strong signal to general citizens that government officials are masters of double talk. Although government of Japan tries to stop the habit, unfortunately, the birds cannot understand the human language.

Japan is a country that government officials take stronger control than politicians. Once a secretary of a politician said, "Anybody can be Prime Minister."

Therefore, even the government seems not to be able to stop the birds which eat the citizens' wealth avariciously and secretly from migrating under any seasons.

Youngsters Sweep Over Agriculture

Hi, everyone in the world!! What's up? Here is my today's column:

Recently, youngsters who try to work as a farmer have been increasing though farm management is not easy and full of difficulties. Swiss info reported it today.

According to the article dated on May 5 in their website, it was reported that the number of students in farm schools are skyrocketing.

The popularity has going higher since 2002, and it does not show the decline. In addition, it is said that some of those who had compulsory educations in other fields take the course of farm education trying to change their jobs.

This is the story in Switzerland, but in Japan, youngsters who want to be farmers are said to be increasing, too. Why do the youngsters start to have interest in farm industry? Are they tired of city life? Or are they fed up with material society or harsh money seeking corporate organizations?

They must have a variety of reasons, but it will be true that this is a signal to prove that something in modern society is going wrong. Those youngsters are definitely fed up with something in this current society.

One out of Four Junior High School Students Suffer from Depression--Investigation of Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan

Hi there!! How's it going? I'm genki desu(fine). It's almost 3:30 pm here in Japan. By the way, do you like baseball? Daisuke Matsuzaka in major league baseball had a good pitch today and got 4th win. It was good news! All right, here is my today's column:

A research group in Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan announced that one out of four junior high school students are under condition of symptom of depression. The number of sample is around 600 students that is not large, but it will be a good data for reference to prevent suicide by children. Mainichi Newspaper reported it today.

The method used is an internationally recognized way. Students answered the 18 questions such as "no meaning to live, feel lonely".

A professor says, "The reason why children get depressed is not just bullying but a variety of reasons."

How sad and depressive news this is! Depression and suicide are quite problematic in adult society of Japan, but I think that this sort of problem should not take place in kids' world. At least, I do not want them to happen in their world.

This symptom is definitely the one that shows how sick Japan society is.

How about a society in your country? Healthy? Are people on the street smiling?

Samurai's Purse Needed to Get Remedied ASAP!! Public Officials' Heaven, it's Japan!!

Hello, everyone in the world!! It's 11 pm here in Japan. I'm going to post today's column before going to bed:

Government officials in Tokyo and assembly members had been given special treatments or gifts that were nearly 1.3 million yen from 2003 to 2006. The public fees were spent by village mayors and chairpersons in two villages. Mainichi newspaper just reported today.

The number of government officials was around 100 people including top officials.

The Tokyo prohibited that kind of illegal payments no matter how much the amount is since the illegal payment of food by government officials in Tokyo was found. Tokyo government is going to investigate the problem.

As I wrote in my book (ebook), Japan's debt is the worst standard in the world, and it can be safely said that Japan's bankrupt may become real.

One of the biggest reasons is the crazy amount of waste of public spending. Citizens '(general citizens) efforts have been eaten by public officials.

So many termites are teeming in Japan. Government says, "Bye, the people".

Cloud Museum on the Hill

Hi, everyone in the world!! It's 5:40 pm here in Japan. It's the time to deliver my today's column:

The name of the museum is partly borrowed from a book written by Ryotaro Shiba, "Cloud above the Hill".

The editorial of Sanyo newspaper told a story today. In the fiction, Japan in Meiji period was described. Japan was winning in the Russo-Japanese War, 1905.

And in the fiction, a fact was repeatedly emphasized that Japan barely won, and it was like walking on thin ices. However, post-Meiji Japanese citizens could not understand it.

The editorial picked up the words shown largely in the museum such as, "Winning became absolute, and the mysterious strength of Japanese military was believed. In this moment, Japanese became stupid ethnically." "Loss of the war gave Japanese citizens rationality, and win of the war made citizens mad."

I think that this theory strongly works in modern times as well because we are living in the battle of economy, global economy. In that world, winning (earning) becomes absolute.

In France, Mr. Sarkozy took the helm with a decision that France will follow the America and British style market economy trying to win at the global economy. Excluding invisible forces and taking the result straight, it means that France citizens support the change.

I am a little worried that if the value in the world strongly goes to the same one, winning (earning) under any conditions and with any methods, horrible history may repeat.

P.S.
The feeling of France this time seems to be a bit similar to the time when the ex-Prime Minister Koizumi in Japan got the seat.

He also enthusiastically mentioned words such as change, opportunity, destroy the old systems. He tried to change the old society into the competitive society. And…he did so just by destroying the general citizens' lives. On the contrary, he protected government workers including the public sectors. Citizens were totally cheated.

As time goes by, France citizens would know that whether or not the new President is a true reformer.

Screams from Toyota Philippines

Hi!! How are you doing? It's 4:00 pm here in Japan. It's the time to deliver my today's column:

Toyota surpassing GM is going to be number 1 seller of cars this year, but protests by union members are spreading around the world. My News Japan (Japanese website), an innovative internet media, reported it in the first day of this month.

According to the media, it is said that the protest is active in Philippines, especially.

In 2001, around 300 union members were fired and stopped to work over the recognition of the union. The protest prolonged. However, in Japan, this sort of things has not reported. Amid all this, the chairman of the labor union in the Toyota Philippine came to Japan and appealed the unfair discharge in the headquarter of Toyota in Tokyo.

Actually, the terrible working condition about Toyota was reported by this media a couple of times such as death by overtime work or salary control.

This company, Toyota, can be said "a representative of Japanese companies" as people over the world know. However, the representative has been providing this kind of working environments. Of course, other companies in Japan have been following in many ways.

There are lots of unreasonable sacrifices behind the growth.

This internet media is getting noticeable in the way that they can report the real news that traditional mass media, almost all media in Japan can never pick up because they do not rely on the commercial advertisements. Other media are just profit-seekers who gave up the public mission being afraid of losing the trees of profits.

To know the truth, we have to have much more cautious eyes.

Children's Day

Today is a national holiday called, "Children's Day". Children will enjoy this holiday with family, but the volume of their voices is getting low.

Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced yesterday that the number of children has been going down successively for 26 years, and it updated the worst record that was made last year.

The ratio of population in children to whole population is worst standard in whole world.

Government is trying to think about the ways to switch this trend. The typical example will be lump-sum allowance for childbirth and nursing. Of course, it is far from enough and it is kind of the benefit that is better than none.

I suppose that the matter is not just solved by the temporal benefit. People start not to produce kids thinking a lot about this society and the future of this country. That is, they have judged that the future of this country is not bright, and it is tough enough to maintain their own lives.

Government needs to show the firm vision to citizens and give them feeling of safety and brightness. For the time being, it will be impossible.

An Officer Worker Arrested on Suspicion of Sexual Assault. 90 Cases of Similar Modus Operandi Were Found, Too.

Hi, everyone in world!! How's it going? It's 9:40 pm here in Japan. Here is my today's column:

Japanese mass media reported today that an office worker, 27 years old man, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

In east part of Nagoya city over 3 three years, around 90 rape crimes took place. The victims were young women who were on the way to their homes. The way of the criminal was that he threatened the victims with something like a blade for the nape from behind around the entrance.

It is said that Japan is safe. Relatively speaking, it will be true, but it is also said that the citizens' real feeling for the security is going worse.

I have stayed in a couple foreign countries, and I can say that how secure Japan is. This is the honest opinion, but I also agree that real feeling of security is getting worse in Japan.

The feeling may be related to the instability of society where unhappy people are increasing.

Stress in society cannot be compared with the past Japan. The word "depression" is already not special now.

It seems that one of the most important reasons will be economical reason, but I feel something quite complicated.

It is difficult to take up the specific reasons, but multi complicated phenomena have made Japanese citizens (general citizens) suffering.

60th Birthday

Hi, everyone in the globe!! How are you doing? It's almost 3:00 pm here in Japan. It's the time to deliver my today's column:

60 years have passed since Constitution of Japan went into effect. Today is the birthday.

The original ideal of the Constitution of Japan is great in the way that declared the renunciation of war.

Kobe newspapers cited a textbook of society for junior high schools at that time in the editorial today. The textbook described a story titled "A story about new Constitution". In the part of "renunciation of war", there was a description, "We will never have militaries, military ships, airplanes for war." It further described, "Please don't worry feeling insecure at all. We have just started a correct thing earlier than other countries."

As human beings are a creature that is forgetful, current prime minister may be also forgetful of the original concept.

Now, the reform of Constitution is debated in Japan. It will be true that some are not fit with current society, but many Japanese are worried that the reform may have a dangerous intention that induces citizens to be able to go to war.

Though Charles Darwin says that those who change can survive, there is a thing that we should never change.

Ethics Should Not be Taught in Subjects of School--From Japan

Hi, everyone!! How's it going? It's 1:50 pm here in Japan and time to deliver my today's column:

A chairperson of Central Education Council (panel of experts in Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) announced in a press conference of Japan National Press Club (notorious for the closed nature) in 26th last month, "Ethics should not be taught in subjects, but adults including teachers should teach through their experiences." Yomiuri newspaper reported on April 26, 2007.

Youngsters including small kids are sensitive enough to know that how this society is going whether or not schools teach the ethics as one of the subjects in school education. Whatever government tries to teach them, real society will teach them what the real society is.

It is getting difficult for superficial education to maintain the effectiveness for long.

One of big reasons will be the development of internet. Surfing on the internet, we can find that so many people are dropping their complaints that tend to disclose the truths in many regards although literacy is necessary to judge the reliability of the information to some degrees.

For the education of the ethics, society where adults are living has to be corrected first. Kids will learn from this society sooner or later. If this society is out of order, their positive mind will get diminished and end up being under despair.
